Get in touchI trained as an agriculture technician and now help growers with the day-to-day work that sits between a plan on paper and a crop in the field.
I set up nurseries, lay out drip lines, and run soil tests so fertiliser is matched to what the land actually needs. I like work you can walk out and check: seedlings that take, water that reaches the root zone, and a written plan a farmer can follow after I leave.
Built a 200-square-metre shade nursery for vegetable seedlings. Laid out beds, a simple misting line, and a sowing calendar so the group could raise their own tomato, chilli, and cauliflower plants instead of buying them in.
Designed and installed a gravity-fed drip system on a 12-ropani plot. Mapped laterals, fitted filters, and trained the grower on flushing and seasonal packing so the lines last more than one season.
Collected composite samples across three blocks, sent them for lab analysis, and wrote a split-application plan for nitrogen, phosphorus, and farmyard manure. Follow-up visits checked leaf colour and adjusted the second dressing.
Support extension visits: nursery checks, irrigation layouts, and soil-sample collection with smallholder groups.
Helped raise seedlings, keep planting records, and demonstrate drip tape on demonstration plots.
Coursework and practicals in crop production, soil science, irrigation, and plant protection.
